In an article entitled "My Most Successful Work" from The Canadian Composer, October 1968, Betty Fisher chose this song as being her most successful out of the 20-30 songs she wrote. "It describes the beauty of this wonderful province", she says.
During British Columbia's Centennial (1958 centenary of the province becoming a colony), The Centennial Committee suggested that she publish it. Another of her successful compositions is Maple Leaf Waltz which was recorded in London and Canada and performed by Don Messer.
