Mountain by the Sea is part of a revised musical drama called Vancouver . Originally produced for young people at University Hill United Church in 1980, the drama was then entitled Adventure at Point Grey. Lois Kerr later expanded this drama to include the whole of Vancouver. Other songs included are I Lost My Heart in Lost Lagoon, These Bright and Shining Mountains, Moby Doll (who was the first killer whale in captivity), Spanish Banks, Twilight for Spain, Mount Baker, Poor Simon Fraser Came Down the Wrong River, 374 and Vancouver Song. Mountain by the Sea is the only song from this drama that has been published separately as sheet music.
