Ethel Homer was a composer and certified accompanist of the Royal Schools of Music, London and taught early grades in the New Westminster school system. John Booth, Sr. contributed in the laying out and beautifying of the city's parks, including Queen's Park. Kathleen Pearson received full honors certificates from the Royal Drawing Society, London, and was a pioneer Native Daughter and clubwoman supreme.

The Native Daughters of British Columbia is non-partisan, non-sectarian society formed in Vancouver, BC in 1919. The aims and objections of the society is "to perpetuate and cherish the memory of those pioneers who took part in the early development of the Province of British Columbia and to take an active part in the preservation of historical relics and records of the Province."

Membership requirements are that the women be a Canadian citizen over the age of 18 and born in the province of British Columbia. Posts were formed in Nanaimo, Victoria, New Westminster, Fort Langley and Ladysmith. Two other Posts were formed in Campbell River and Bella Coola but closed due to lack of members. A Grand Post of the Native Daughters was from in May, 1922 and meets once a year.

The Native Daughters have been active in charitable work and donations to worthy causes. Post #1, Vancouver, BC, operates the Old Hastings Mill Store on Alma Street in Vancouver where it has been located since 1932.
