Agnella Mitton was an active Anglican and dedicated this song to the Archbishop De Pencier who at the time was the Anglican Archbishop of New Westminster and Metropolitan of the Province of British Columbia. She was married to John Croft Mitton who was Rector of St. Peter's from 1916 for many years. Mrs. Mitton died in 1931.
