After a motor trip to Vancouver in 1968, Russell Kearns and his wife moved there from Montreal. Having developed a fondness for Vancouver, he wrote this song.

Russell Kearns played trumpet while in the army during WWII and with many big bands. A big band arrangement of this song was made but never performed. The song was recorded with vocal by Karen Kelm and a smaller ensemble.
